What do we do?
CCChampions is a network between professional athletes and children who have cancer. We build unique 1-to-1 friendships between local kind-hearted athletes and children who have cancer.
But we do more than athlete-child friendships–we also build an entire community of support for these amazing kids, through year-round programs like the CCChampions Olympics, a Carnival at Children’s Hospital, and a Night with the Pawtucket Red Sox!
What does the CCC stand for, anyway?
Connecting Children with Champions!
So how does the CCC Friendship work?
CCChampions has a unique four-step process:

1) Drafting: Athletes and children alike sign up for the program; the child is then assigned to an athlete from the available list. This athlete-child relationship will be known as the “CCC Friendship,” and marks the beginning of the empowering journey of CCChampions.
2) Teaming Up: Upon establishment of the CCC Friendship, the child receives a special jersey with the athletes number–and the child’s name. The giving of the jersey will be a special induction ceremony with the child, the family, the nurses, and the doctors.
3) Developing Team Chemistry: The athlete and child will confidentially communicate regularly through CCChampions via any convenient method (letters, emailing, texting, etc.). The athlete serves as an inspirational pen pal as the child battles cancer.
4) Winning the Championship: In another ceremony with the child’s family, nurses, and doctors, the child will be presented with an exclusive CCChampions Championship Trophy. At CCChampions, we believe that every child that battles cancer is a true champion!
How much does it cost?
CCChampions has no cost for the child or the athlete. It runs purely on charitable donations, and every dollar helps bring a smile to a child’s face!
Does it only work for certain athletes?
No way! CCChampions works with all professional athletes: active or retired, men or women, sports of all kinds!
